Inconsistent terms hide in plain sight

A translation can read well and still call the same thing three names across a document. Nobody notices until a reviewer, an inspector or a contractor does, and by then the document is issued. Wrong terms caused 47% of translation errors in General Motors’ study of its own translations (SAE J1930, Woyde 2005). If your engineers keep correcting the same terms, this is where those corrections come from. A term approved once should never need correcting again.

02

What you get

A short report:

  • Every inconsistent term, with each way it was translated.
  • Where it appears in the document.
  • The term we would recommend, and why.
  • For AutoCAD DWG drawings, the same check on the drawing text, and against the document it belongs to if you include it.
03

How it works

If your own staff translate specs or drawings today, send one of theirs.

What happens next is up to you

If the report shows a pattern, we build your term base from your past translations, every term your engineers approve is applied to every future document, and your engineers review the translation in minutes, not hours. If it shows nothing, you have a clean bill of health.
